In these turbulent times, the weight of the world presses on our hearts, from the heart-wrenching tragedies in Lahaina Maui, the wildfires in Argentina, the flooding in Libya, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and now the horror in Israel and Palestine. We are witnessing the birth pangs foretold by Paul. The contractions intensify like a mother about to give birth; when you are in the midst of them, the intensity can be paralyzing. But, only for a moment. Are we not, as Christians, thankful for the hope we have in Jesus?

In these times of distress and uncertainty, it is of utmost importance to take Jesus’s teachings regarding the end times to heart. He warned us against deception and fear, as mentioned in Matthew 24:4-5. He foretold the rise of nations against nations and kingdoms against kingdoms, as found in Matthew 24:7. Furthermore, He earnestly encouraged us to actively share the gospel as witnesses, underscoring that it is through this role, that the end shall come, as emphasized in Matthew 24:14.

As we reflect on these teachings of Jesus about the end times, we find a profound connection to the transformative power of His message. Christ’s character is completed in his people- BEFORE He will come. For many of us, the belief that Christ’s character must be fulfilled in His people before His return seems distant and unfathomable. However, today, we see hearts transforming. Love awakening on a grand scale. A hunger and a thirst for the righteousness of Christ surges through the souls of many. We have seen Jesus being loudly proclaimed and worshipped on the streets here on the Hawaiian islands. People are healing, not just from their sins but from the deeply rooted wounds that bind them to a dark, unforgiving past. Friends, Jesus desires to relieve us of our burdens. All of them. Yes, our sins, but even the hurts and pains that bind us like a ball and chain against a cold, unyielding wall.

While witnessing people healing from their emotional, physical, and spiritual pains, our hearts are heavy as we observe certain prominent people departing from the faith—once great men and women of God, once fervent preachers and teachers. Once influential Christian authors now leaving all that they once stood for. Timothy’s warning is fitting for what is taking place today, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.” 1 Timothy 4:1-2.

Some folks are teaching and preaching that repentance is not something to concern ourselves with. We were forgiven at the cross, and Jesus covers us to the extent that we do not need to change. Many believe in a gospel that does not need a heart transformation. But with the times we live in, we DO need Jesus. We do need a transformation of our hearts and minds. He wants to take us on a journey through the process of sanctification towards holiness. Study the sanctuary message found in Exodus. Study the symbolism of each article of the sanctuary, the altar of sacrifice, the table of shewbread, and so on. It is a window into the united workings of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. A pathway forward to complete restoration and healing and holiness. “Thy way, Oh God, is in the sanctuary.” Psalm 77:13. And because Jesus is THE WAY (John 14:6), you will find him in the sanctuary message.

We find ourselves navigating these challenging times, it is our belief that a sifting process is underway within the church, much like the parable Jesus shared in Matthew 13. Our earnest prayer is that we stay unwavering in our faith, resolute in our beliefs, and committed to sharing the message of salvation with a world that seems lost, holding firm to the wisdom found in 1 Corinthians 15:58. “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

In the times we live in, we need Jesus more than ever. As parents of little children, we strive to be more like Him each day. To show our children love, kindness, patience, gentleness, and wisdom. Raising children has made us even more aware of our need to “work out our own salvation with fear and trembling before the Lord.” Philippians 2:12.

With so many fearful events happening in today’s world, we can choose to have awareness of these events, or not. If we do read into it, watch it unfold, or even if we have lived through crisis we must not lead others to Jesus in fear, but through hope. That is to bring the hope of His salvation and the glories of heaven. We also believe it is wrong of us as the body of Christ to lead others to Jesus in fear, whether through Revelation seminars, diet changes, dress reform, corrupt politicians, apostate Protestantism, or the World Economic Forum. We pray for God to help us, to have His love, wisdom, patience, and His humility.

We also feel a need to share that we as a church must repent of our legalism, our pride, and our fears. Yes fear was recently used to spiritually manipulate others to go against their conscience. As the great Martin Luther once said over 500 years ago, “To go against conscience is neither safe, nor right.” This still rings true today.

In 2 Corinthians 3:17, we read these beautiful words, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” This liberty is not a free pass for reckless behavior but rather freedom from our sins. Freedom from the hurts and the pains. Throughout history, Satan has burdened us with painful experiences. Jesus wants to blot out of our memories the burdens and sins others have caused, and we ourselves have caused. Isn’t that GOOD NEWS? Hallelujah. As these memories come to our minds, we can ask the Holy Spirit to replace these sinful memories with depictions of the life of Jesus. Remember the satanist turned Seventh-day Adventist author and prayer warrior Roger Morneau? He claimed Matthew 27: 24-54 every day. He called it The Power Chapter because he was able to overcome the satanic experiences and evil he experienced by the blood of Jesus.

May we be the light in these challenging times, extending love, grace, and hope to those who suffer. May we embrace the transformations we can receive through the power of Christ, walking the path toward righteousness with unwavering faith. We hope this article is a blessing, but also empowering for you to claim the victory from the blood of Jesus and find the healing you need. Corinthians 5:17 tells us, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Together, as we journey towards Christ’s character being fulfilled in His people, we await His glorious return.

Can Diet Affect Your Spirituality? Part 1

Have you ever been told that diet has nothing to do with your spirituality, which, by the way, many pastors are teaching their congregations? It reminds me of the doctors who tell their patients that poor food choices have nothing to do with disease or whether you get sick or not. Doctors these days may admit diet can contribute to diabetes and heart disease, but when it comes to autoimmune diseases, cancer, and other incurable diseases, they rarely will admit that what you put into your body has something to do with disease.

I believe it is time to tackle this important subject head-on, because if what some pastors are saying is true, then the church will be eating junk food and consuming other health-destroying items until the Second Coming of Christ, disregarding the fact that our bodies are to be the temple of the Holy Spirit.

There are many Christians who draw the line when it comes to tobacco and drugs, while others refuse pork as prohibited by the Bible. So let me first ask the question: “Can smoking and drinking alcohol affect your spirituality?”

I once had a man come in to see me who had lung cancer. He smelled like tobacco and had a pack of Marlboro cigarettes in his t-shirt pocket. I looked again at his chart and asked him the question: “Are you still smoking?” He answered as quick as a flash: “Yes” and stuck his t-shirt out at me as if bragging about the “nails in his coffin.” I was a bit surprised by his behavior and said: “If you are still smoking then I refuse to see you.” He was shocked and responded indignantly: “And you call yourself a Christian! You Christians aren’t free. You can’t drink or smoke can you? You have no liberty.”

I shocked the cancer patient by asking him for one of his cigarettes and his lighter. I put the cigarette in my mouth and flicked the flame and brought in about 1 inch from the noxious weed. I said to the surprised terminally ill man: “Let me explain something about the words liberty and freedom. I can light this cigarette and smoke it right now if I want to, but you quit right now.” I asked him pointedly: “Who has liberty and freedom?”

I could see the poor man was deeply embarrassed. “I never thought of it like that before,” he said. I then read him a few verses in the Book of James: “Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” James 1:I4, 15. I then said: “The Bible calls the moral law of God the Law of Liberty (James 2:12) by which you will be judged. The Bible teaches we may have true liberty from, not in, sin (see Matthew 1:21).

I then asked him to read me the warning on the side of the package of cigarettes: “Warning, cigarette smoking causes lung cancer.” I pressed him further and asked him: “Have you heard of the 10 Commandments?  “Of course,” he answered. “Can you tell me what the sixth commandment says?” After failing to answer, I told him that it says: “Thou shalt not kill.” He was speechless. He finally whispered: “I am not free, am I? I am killing myself.”

I once read a very profound statement in a devotional book called My Life Today: “Others will seek their happiness in the indulgence of an unnatural appetite, and consider the indulgence of taste more desirable than health and life. Many suffer themselves to be enchained by sensual passions, and will sacrifice physical strength, intellect, and moral powers to the gratification of lust. They will bring themselves to untimely graves, and in the judgment will be charged with self-murder.” ML 162.

What a sobering thought! Will a man be guiltless who continues to kill himself with tobacco? What about alcohol? The Bible says: “Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.” Prov. 20:1. A few chapters later the wisest man who ever lived wrote: “Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright (i.e. fermented). At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.  Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.” Prov. 23:31-33. How many times when I was in the world did I try to pick up women in bars while uttering “perverse things”.

The Bible clearly says a drunk will not inherit the kingdom of heaven: “Now the works of the flesh are manifest which are these: … murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of which I tell you … they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Gal. 5:21.

How does God speak to us anyway? “The brain nerves which communicate with the entire system are the only medium through which Heaven can communicate to man, and affect his inmost life. Whatever disturbs the circulation of the electric currents in the nervous system, lessens the strength of the vital powers, and the result is a deadening of the sensibilities of the mind.” Healthful Living, p. 54.

When you consider smoking chokes off oxygen from the body and contains 3,000 chemicals, and alcohol kills brain cells and is toxic to the liver,  may I ask: “Should Christians be using to these health-destroying vices who claim to have put on the mind of Christ?” These toxic substances disturb the electrical currents to the brain, deaden the mind, and increase disease. Can they be classified as lusts of the flesh that weaken our moral nature and our spirituality?

Paul said: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Rom. 12:1, 2. God wants to renew us in the mind and restore His image in us. Cigarette smoking is a stench in His nostrils and hardly something that will be practiced in the earth made new. Can you imagine intoxicating beverages inebriating the renewed mind in heaven?

“Both tobacco and liquor break down nerve force, and dull the finer perceptions, so that the slaves to these habits cannot discern between sacred and common things. An example of the demoralizing effect of intoxicants is seen in the case of Nadab and Abihu. They ventured to partake of wine before they entered the tabernacle to perform the duties of their sacred office, and the result was, they could not distinguish between common fire and that which was consecrated to the holy service. For this breach of trust they were slain. Some will say, “If they were intoxicated, and could not discern the difference between these fires, why should they be punished?” When they placed the cup to their lips, they made themselves responsible for all their deeds committed while under its influence.” CTBH 18.

I found an interesting statement from the late John Harvey Kellogg about fermented drink. It said: “Was the wine used by Christ and his disciples at the Passover supper, just before the crucifixion, fermented or unfermented? This is an interesting question; for all Christendom have for hundreds of years acted upon the supposition that the wine employed was fermented, and have used this kind of wine in the sacrament. If we can ascertain with certainty the character of the wine employed by the Jews in the Passover feast, we shall be able to settle this question satisfactorily. Can we do so? The following facts seem to make the matter sufficiently clear:

a. The process of fermentation is one of putrefaction or decay. The ancients understood this, and were also acquainted with the fact that fermentation is occasioned by leaven or ferment.

b. Not only leavened or fermented bread was forbidden during the Passover, but all fermented things. Says Kitto, “All fermented substances were prohibited during the Pascal feast of the Jews, and during the succeeding seven days.” Hence, the Passover was called the “feast of the unleavened,” the word bread not being found in the original.

c. If the body of Christ was necessarily represented by bread which was absolutely free from ferment or leaven, surely his blood– which is the life should be represented by wine equally free from putrefactive elements.” A CONSIDERATION OF THE USE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES FROM A BIBLE STANDPOINT, J. H. Kellogg, M.D.

Now let’s  look at a comparison between bad and good wine.

BAD WINE (FERMENTED – ALCOHOL)

Fermented.

Contains alcohol.

Poisonous.

Intoxicating.

Produced by decay.

A symbol of wrath.

“Wine is a mocker.”

“Look not thou upon the wine when it is red.”

“Strong drink is raging.”

“Poison of dragons.”

“Cruel venom of asps.”

“Biteth like a serpent and stingeth like an adder.”

“Woe unto him that giveth his neighbor drink, that puttest thy bottle to him”

GOOD WINE (FRESH JUICE OF THE GRAPE)

Unfermented

Contains no alcohol.

Wholesome.

Unintoxicating.

Produced by natural growth.

A symbol of blessing.

“Cheereth God and man.”

“Use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake.”

“And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it. And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.” Mark 14:23, 24. Ibid.

To be continued

Can Diet Affect Your Spirituality? Part 2

In Part one I discussed how alcohol and tobacco can disturb the electrical currents of the brain and affect one’s spirituality, because the toxins can benumb and stupefy the mind. “The brain nerves which communicate with the entire system are the only medium through which Heaven can communicate to man,and affect his inmost life. Whatever disturbs the circulation of the electric currents in the nervous system, lessens the strength of the vital powers, and the result is a deadening of the sensibilities of the mind.” Healthful Living, p. 54

Since God speaks to us directly from His throne through the delicate nerves of the brain, would it not be wise to preserve sound bodies and sound minds by watching what we put into our bodies? “The Redeemer of the world knew that the indulgence of appetite would bring physical debility, and so deaden the perceptive organs that sacred and eternal things would not be discerned. Christ knew that the world was given up to gluttony, and that this indulgence would pervert the moral powers. If the indulgence of appetite was so strong upon the race that, in order to break its power, the divine Son of God, in behalf of man, was required to fast nearly six weeks, what a work is before the Christian in order that he may overcome even as Christ overcame! The strength of the temptation to indulge perverted appetite can be measured only by the inexpressible anguish of Christ in that long fast in the wilderness.

“Christ knew that in order to successfully carry forward the plan of salvation He must commence the work of redeeming man just where the ruin began. Adam fell by the indulgence of appetite. In order to impress upon man his obligations to obey the law of God, Christ began His work of redemption by reforming the physical habits of man. The declension in virtue and the degeneracy of the race are chiefly attributable to the indulgence of perverted appetite.” CD 54.

When you consider the state of health in America today, and all the obesity from overindulgence, is it any wonder why there is spiritual lethargy? Americans eat too much fat, sugar, soft drinks, salt, booze, and get very little exercise. Jesus prophesied of a future time when overindulgence would be a snare or trap for each of us, and most definitely affect our spiritual condition to the point we will not be ready for His coming: “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Luke 21:34-36.

Christ warned us that gluttony would be the prevailing sin of the age, and Luke made no mistake when he used the descriptive words, surfeiting (an overabundance of food) and drunkenness (an overabundance of drink), to emphasize the gluttonous condition of the world right before Christ’s coming. Interestingly, we now have a major global obesity problem. There are currently 1.6 billion overweight adults in the world. That number is projected to grow by 40% over the next 10 years according to the CDC. At least 300 million of them are clinically obese and are a major contributor to the global burden of chronic disease and disability. 2/3 of Americans are now overweight and obesity among children has increased at an alarming rate.

In the prophecy above, Jesus warned not to let your hearts be overcharged with excessive amounts of eating and drinking, for overeating and overconsumption of the wrong foods will stupefy the mind: “Satan sees that he cannot have so great power over minds when the appetite is kept under control as when it is indulged, and he is constantly working to lead men to indulgence. Under the influence of unhealthful food, the conscience becomes stupefied [dull or lethargic], the mind is darkened, and its susceptibility to impressions is impaired.” CTBH 79. Please read carefully the following statement again: “”The brain nerves which communicate with the entire system are the only medium through which Heaven can communicate to man, and affect his inmost life. Whatever disturbs the circulation of the electric currents in the nervous system, lessens the strength of the vital powers, and the result is a deadening of the sensibilities of the mind.” Healthful Living, p. 54

National Geographic featured an article, August 2004, called The Heavy Cost of Fat. “American women are now eating 335 more calories per day than they did in 1971. …  One-third of the vegetables we are eating are: iceberg lettuce, french fries, and potato chips. … The [refined] grains we are eating are flour-based items like pasta, tortillas, and hamburger buns, which have little more nutritional value than table sugar.” The eye-opening-article went on to say obesity increases liver disease, colon cancer, osteoarthritis, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. The percentage of Americans who were obese in 1971 was 14.5; today the percentage has increased to 30.9 percent.

“As our first parents lost Eden through the indulgence of appetite, our only hope of regaining Eden is through the firm denial of appetite and passion. Abstemiousness in diet, and control of all the passions, will preserve the intellect and give mental and moral vigor, enabling men to bring all their propensities under the control of the higher powers, and to discern between right and wrong, the sacred and the common. … The controlling power of appetite will prove the ruin of thousands, when, if they had conquered on this point, they would have had moral power to gain the victory over every other temptation of Satan. But those who are slaves to appetite will fail in perfecting Christian character. The continual transgression of man for six thousand years has brought sickness, pain, and death as its fruits. And as we near the close of time, Satan’s temptation to indulge appetite will be more powerful and more difficult to overcome.” CD 59.

“If Christians will keep the body in subjection, and bring all their appetites and passions under the control of enlightened conscience, feeling it a duty that they owe to God and to their neighbors to obey the laws which govern health and life, they will have the blessing of physical and mental vigor. They will have moral power to engage in the warfare against Satan; and in the name of Him who conquered appetite in their behalf, they may be more than conquerors on their own account. This warfare is open to all who will engage in it.” CD 69.

I will close with the words of the apostle Paul: “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate [to abstain entirely from things harmful to the body] in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.  I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, [the lower powers such as appetite] and bring it into subjection [to the higher powers of the mind]: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” 1 Cor. 9:25-27. So which one is ruling in your life? Is it your mind or your body?

God’s Judgments Coming to Specific Cities

“Haiti got hammered with an earthquake. Gangs have formed and the looting has begun. New Orleans had the same situation; unprepared people forming mobs to forcibly take what they want from those unable to defend themselves, ” wrote Mike Piccioni, the editor of Guns and Patriots. “Last week’s magnitude-7 quake killed an estimated 200,000 peoplein Haiti, left 250,000 injured and made 1.5 million homeless, according to the European Union,” reported Fox News. Haiti has been rocked by 40 aftershocks with the strongest one on Wednesday–a 6.1 magnitude.

I have received a number of emails that had one thing in common–they all spoke of God’s judgmentssoon to strike the earth. These emails warned of fires, destruction, riots and turmoil soon to strike this country, and certain cities in particular. The emails emphasized an urgent need to make preparation both physically and spiritually, for God’s judgments will soon increase in an effort to warn America to repent of her evil ways. I want to make it known, before we proceed, that mercy and justice are part of God’s holiness. Please listen closely: the soon coming judgments that take place before the close of probation arepart of God’s mercy–His warnings–to save souls from the final execution of the seven last plagues, right before the second coming of Christ.

We all feel the tragedy in Haiti and sympathize with the human suffering. We, as Christians, need to pray and help the Haitians where we can. According to the CIA World Factbook, the religious makeup of Haiti is strongly Christian, with a population that is 80% Roman Catholic and 16% Protestant. Over half of the population combines vodou, known by some as voodoo (Satan worship), with Christianity and other faiths. Haitian voodoo is a combination of African, European, and native spirituality. Speaking of the consequences of Haitians’ purported agreement with the devil, well-known evangelist Pat Robertson elaborated on his belief that the people of Haiti have misguided spiritual beliefs: “Haiti is in desperate poverty … [Haitians] need to have, and we need to pray for them, a great turning to God. And out of this tragedy, I’m optimistic something good may come.”

Meeting with a voodoo high-priest on February 4, 1993, during his visit to Benin, John Paul II gave the rationale to justify voodoo worship according to the principles of Vatican II. It is the first time in History that a pope praised a worship that explicitly worships the Devil. Pope John Paul II was encouraged the practitioners of voodoo in Benin, Africa to remain in their cult of demon worship and ritual sacrifice, by declaring that Voodoo contains the “Seeds of the Word”! (Cf. L’Osservatore Romano,” 10 February 1993). Thanks to John Paul’s recognition of the “Seeds of the Word” in Voodoo, three years after his visit, the government of Benin conferred upon Voodoo the status of “an officially recognized religion.” (cf. Associated Press dispatch, January 11, 1996). Regardless of what the late pope did, the majority of Haitians need to turn to the true God.

Friends, it will not be long before America will be brought to her knees as well, as evidenced by the tremors felt on Wallstreet in the collapse of 2007, and the billions of tax-payers money lost to crippled financial institutions like AIG, Citibank, and General Motors. God’s Judgments of mercy will soon strike not only Wallstreet, but major cities throughout this county, for America’s cup of iniquity is nearly full.

Does America need “a great turning to God?” Quoting from my new book The Final Inquisition: “Sexual promiscuity, immorality, and greed have run rampant like a contagious plague for too many years. Hollywood movies are filled with promiscuity, spiritualism, and the occult. The battle over Proposition 8 and gay marriages and abortion, as an alternative contraceptive, have made this country a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah. Will God humble the people of this great nation in mercy, to turn their hearts from sin unto repentance, before the seven last plagues are poured out?

The majority of our nation has lost its spirituality and offended God by the battles over prayer in schools, on whether or no to allow “In God We Trust” on our money or God’s name in the “Pledge of Allegiance,” and prohibiting a 2.6-ton monument of the Ten Commandments to be displayed in a state supreme court building, ruling it an “unconstitutional endorsement of religion.” After all, President Obama says our country is “no longer a Christian nation.” Sad but true, many will turn, but to the worship of the false sabbath when Sunday is enforced by civil authority (request your free copy of The Final Inquisition).
The message from Washington is for Americans to spend more money and quit hoarding it. That is why President Obama and the press continue to feed us positive statements, like bait on a hook, regarding the economy, as if it has recovered! In reality, unemployment is record high and more foreclosures are due this month. More friends are losing their jobs and construction remains at a standstill. Nevertheless, Wallstreet keeps cranking out the hype that major corporations like Intel are profiting (perhaps because they have been forced to restructure and cut thousands of jobs), and with that one report, the market responds and investors go crazy ignoring the true facts on the economy. Did not President Obama assure all Americans that unemployment would never reach 8%, and we trusted him? Furthermore, the attempted health reform agenda is just another effort of the Obama administration to lead the country closer to a One World Order! But God is not mocked: “When they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them.” 1 Thes. 5:3.

One of the emails I received shared an urgent message from Pastor David Wilkerson, an American Christian evangelist and founder of Times Square Church in New York. David Wilkerson is well-known for his ministry to young drug addicts and gang members in New York City in the 1950s and 1960’s. His message was dated: “Saturday, March 7, 2009 and said:”AN URGENT MESSAGE”

“I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message to all on our mailing list, and to friends and to bishops we have met all over the world.

“AN EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. IT IS GOING TO BE SO FRIGHTENING, WE ARE ALL GOING TO TREMBLE–EVEN THE GODLIEST AMONG US.

“For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires-such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago. There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting-including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations!”

I understand that David Wilkerson has made prophecies in the past that have not come true, and many of his predictions have failed, but I do believe he also senses something huge is coming, just as many of us do. We will have to wait and see if his predictions about the coming calamities in New York City will be fulfilled. But there are prophecies about destruction in New York City seen in vision by a woman namedEllen G. White, who I believe had the true gift of prophecy. In 1909, she wrote:
“The cries of starving humanity are coming up before God, while by every species of oppression and extortion men are piling up colossal fortunes. On one occasion, when in New York City, I was in the night season called upon to behold buildings rising story after story toward heaven. These buildings were warranted to be fireproof, and they were erected to glorify the owners and builders. Higher and still higher these buildings rose, and in them the most costly material was used. Those to whom these buildings belonged were not asking themselves: ‘How can we best glorify God?’ The Lord was not in their thoughts. The scene that next passed before me was an alarm of fire. Men looked at the lofty and supposedly fire-proof buildings and said: ‘They are perfectly safe.” But these buildings were consumed as if made of pitch. The fire engines could do nothing to stay the destruction. The firemen were unable to operate the engines. I am instructed that when the Lord’s time comes, should no change have taken place in the hearts of proud, ambitious human beings, men will find that the hand that had been strong to save will be strong to destroy. No earthly power can stay the hand of God.” (9T, 11-13).

Friends, I have applied the above prophecy to the destruction of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001, on a number of occasions. Yet, I do not know for sure if the prophecy was describing that specific crisis or written regarding a future crisis in New York City. I believe it is very probable that the inspired words will have a more climatic fulfillment in the not too distant future.

E. G. White, like Jesus, prophesied about destruction by earthquakes, as we have recently seen in Haiti, where thousands upon thousands will be killed: “The earthquakes will come; the floods will come,” she said, and accurately predicted the 1906 earthquake in San Francisco a mere two days before the horrific event:

“While at Loma Linda, California, April 16, 1906, there passed before me a most wonderful representation. During a vision of the night, I stood on an eminence, from which I could see houses shaken like a reed in the wind. Buildings, great and small, were falling to the ground. Pleasure resorts, theaters, hotels, and the homes of the wealthy were shaken and shattered. Many lives were blotted out of existence, and the air was filled with the shrieks of the injured and the terrified.” (Country Living, p. 8).

Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, says: “Shaking was felt from Oregon to Los Angeles, and inland as far as central Nevada. The earthquake and resulting fire is remembered as one of the worst natural disasters in the history of the United States. The death toll from the earthquake and resulting fire, estimated to be above 3,000, is the greatest loss of life from a natural disaster in California’s history.” “A study completed by Yuri Fialko of Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego, has demonstrated that the San Andreas Fault has been stressed to a level sufficient for the next ‘big one,’ as it is commonly called, that is, an earthquake of magnitude 7.0 or greater. The study also concluded that the risk of a large earthquake may be increasing faster than researchers had previously believed. Fialko also emphasized in his study that, while the San Andreas Fault had experienced massive earthquakes in 1857 at its central section and in 1906 at its northern segment (the great San Francisco earthquake).
“If such an earthquake were to occur, Fialko’s study stated, it would result in substantial damage to Palm Springs and a number of other cities in San Bernardino, Riverside and Imperial counties in California, and Mexicali municipality in Baja California. Such an event would be felt throughout much of Southern California, including densely populated areas of metropolitan Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and Tijuana, Baja California. ‘The information available suggests that the fault is ready for the next big earthquake but exactly when the triggering will happen and when the earthquake will occur we cannot tell,’ Fialko said. ‘It could be tomorrow or it could be 10 years or more from now,’ he concluded in September of 2005. (1906 San Francisco Earthquake; San Andreas Fault–wikipedia.com).
E. G. White did predict future judgments of God for San Francisco: “Through the liquor traffic Satan is at work to corrupt with his deceiving policies the rulers and the people. As this work is carried on from city to city, the guilt of the whole world will be made manifest, and it will be plainly seen why God permits His judgments to fall on the earth. Because of the pride of the heart, the falsehood, the dishonesty, the profanity that is manifest, the Lord will soon come out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. The people of San Francisco must answer at the judgment bar of God for the reopening of the liquor saloons in that city. O that our cities might reform! (Signs of the Times, December 4, 1907 par. 10).

She also prophesied: “Scenes that would soon take place in Chicago and other large cities also passed before me. As wickedness increased and the protecting power of God was withdrawn there were destructive winds and tempests. Buildings were destroyed by fire and shaken down by earthquakes.

“Some time after this I was shown that the vision of buildings in Chicago … and their destruction, was an object lesson for our people, warning them not to invest largely of their means in property in Chicago, or any other city….A similar caution was given in regard to building in Los Angeles. Repeatedly I have been instructed that we must not invest means in the erection of expensive buildings in cities.” (Last Day Events, p. 113).
One interesting observation is that while in Loma Linda on July 5, 1906, three months after the San Francisco Earthquake, Ellen White refers again to the vision: “It was while we were still at Loma Linda, the second night after the dedication of the sanitarium, that there passed before me an awful scene of buildings shaken down and destroyed, with great loss of life. I have already described this scene, in the article, ‘The San Francisco Earthquake.’” (RH, July 5, 1906, par. 1). I make no predictions, nor did she confirm it, but I find it interesting that she had this vision while in Loma Linda, and since she wrote about the coming destruction of buildings in Los Angeles, I wonder if the vision will have another application in the future?Again, we will have to wait and see.

Now, please, notice the underlined words of E. G. White’s in the following statement regarding the judgments of God: “Those who choose to remain disloyal must be visited in mercy with judgments, in order that, if possible, they may be aroused to a realization of the sinfulness of their course. (RH, July 5, 1906 par. 2). Will Haitians listen?

Friends, the judgments of God are part of His mercy! Did not God send warning after warning of coming judgments to the wicked cities to repent and ward off the impending doom, as with Moses and Egypt, Daniel and Babylon, and Jonah and Nineveh? Which one repented and thwarted His judgments?

Ellen White continues: “The cities must be worked. The millions living in these congested centers are to hear the third angel’s message. This work should have been developed rapidly during the past few years. A beginning has been made, for which we praise God. Outpost centers are being established, from whence, like Enoch of old, our workers can visit the cities and do faithful service.(RH, July 5, 1906 par. 8).

“Out of the cities; out of the cities!”–this is the message the Lord has been giving me. The earthquakes will come; the floods will come; and we are not to establish ourselves in the wicked cities…The Lord desires that we shall have clear spiritual eyesight. We must be quick to discern the peril that would attend the establishment of institutions in these wicked cities. We must make wise plans to warn the cities, and at the same time live where we can shield our children and ourselves from the contaminating and demoralizing influences so prevalent in these places.” (Country Living, p. 31). “Before the overflowing scourge shall come upon the dwellers of the earth, the Lord calls upon all who are Israelites indeed to prepare for that event. To parents He sends the warning cry: Gather your children into your own houses; gather them away from those who are disregarding the commandments of God, who are teaching and practicing evil. Get out of the large cities as fast as possible.” “My warning is: Keep out of the cities. Build no sanitariums in the cities. Educate our people to get out of the cities into the country, where they can obtain a small piece of land, and make a home for themselves and their children.” AH 139; CL 10.Another email I received this week, shared three dreams that also foretold of coming disasters in the U.S. Here is the letter I received:

“Greetings Brethren!

“I want to share something with you that I think is very important. It has to do with 3 dreams from 3 different people in 3 different years. I verified with my friend the validity of them and she has assured me they are real and that she knows or has spoken to those who can witness the account of theses dreams. I felt the contents of the dreams were too interesting and important not to share. What if these dreams come to pass? Are you ready?

“The first dream takes place in the mid 80’s from a pastor in California who ran an SDA end time/prophecy training center. His name was elder Jack Darnall. He is now deceased. One night he sponsored a Bible study at his home and as the guests were leaving, he pulled one of the men aside and told him that he was impressed to tell him an impressive dream that he had. “It was the time when Jesus returned to earth in power and great glory. America had an African-American president when Jesus returned. He was tall and thin, had close-cropped hair, and large ears. When elected, at first, he was greatly beloved by the people, but then he became a terrible dictator. The dream was not widely discussed, because at this time they could not see a black man being voted in as president with so much prejudice in the country still.” Friends, I made a call to Patti, the woman mentioned in the third dream to confirm the first dream was true. Patti said, “Yes, it is true. Elder Darnall told his wife, a friend, and a neighbor about the dream. His wife and friend had the exact same story and they perfectly matched. I checked it out myself. He also said there would be one more pope after John Paul II.” That would mean Pope Benedict XVI–the pope of theInquisition!
The letter continued: [The] “Second dream took place last June 2008. A 16-year-old, Romanian-American boy in Florida had a sudden heart attack. He was hospitalized and the prognosis was not good. He had gone into a coma for 3 days. He was operated on and it was successful but he was slow to recover his speech from the coma. His name is Andrew. Andrew told his mother about the impressive dream he had but she did not take it serious at first because his memory was also affected, but every time he spoke to someone different about the dream, his words became clearer and more details were described. The nurse that was on duty and became close to the family shared the dream with a medical staff member at the Wildwood Lifestyle Center in Ga. From there, the story spread via Internet. In the dream, Andrew was taken in the presence of Jesus in heaven. There he saw the tree of life and the fruits which were huge and beautiful. Jesus told him it was time to get out of the cities for they were about to fall. Andrew said he then saw what appeared to be like a panoramic view of a news broadcast that showed the city of Atlanta, Georgia in ruins. Andrew also felt he wasn’t worthy to have been in His presence, and did not take Jesus seriously enough before. He was to tell his story to as many people as possible to get the message out that it was time to flee the cities and have a place in the country for destruction was about to come-the judgments of God. Now there’s more detail, but you get the over all picture.
The third dream actually comes from a neighbor of my friend, Patti, in the Oklahoma ministry that puts out a quarterly newsletter that printed the above accounts. She quotes: ‘My neighbor, who is a humble, God fearing soul, just had a dream where someone came to him and said, ‘Something very big (of gigantic proportions) is about to happen in the Southeast United States.’
“Now, I don’t know how many of you keep up with Alex Jones at www.infowars.com or even know him, but he reported literally thousands of black plastic coffins outside a fenced in area near Atlanta. And those who are blow the whistles about FEMA also report training for mega disasters in big cities. Can you saymartial law?? [And what about the “concentration camps” being built in the U.S.?]. No wonder the government wants Americans to register their purchases of ammunition for hand guns. The Marxist Muslim president of the United States won’t stop until he disarms the militia and controls their guns!
“You might be shaking your heads and murmuring right now, but let me share a few words of wisdom from the prophet Joel, in the last days of the earth as we know it, with you:
“Blow ye the trumpet in Zion and sound an alarm in My holy mountain [God’s people]; let all the inhabitants of the land tremble for the Day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand…..And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh [of His people] and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: and also upon the servants [prophets] and upon the handmaids [prophetesses] in those days will I pour out My Spirit. And I shall shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth; blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.” (Joel 2:1, 28-31).
“I looked up in the Hebrew text, the meaning of “pillars of smoke.” The Hebrew word is Temar. It means smoke ‘shaped’ like a palm tree. What kind of weapon of mass destruction are we all too familiar with that rises up like a palm tree?
“We don’t know what kind of destruction is coming or how it is to come about from these dreams. Atlanta could fall from the mighty earthquake that scientists are predicting is overdue in the Tennessee region, since the last one happened in the early 1800’s and changed the course of the Mississippi river. But I would think many cities would be affected greatly, not just Atlanta.
“I shared this with you, because if it came from God, and God’s Word is true and faithful, you will know that you were warned ahead of time…If we make it through the Obama regime after 8 years (?) and new presidents are elected, then we know it was a false dream.”
Friends, we will have to wait and see whether or not the dreams above come true, but I want to continue to urge everyone reading The Elijah Prophecy to prepare both physically and spiritually for what is soon coming. in quick succession, to our cities. In the meantime, here are some other prophecies by E. G. White that further warn of God’s judgments to come to cities as a means of arousing men and women to repent:
“The time is at hand when there will be sorrow in the world that no human balm can heal. The Spirit of God is being withdrawn. Disasters by sea and by land follow one another in quick succession. How frequently we hear of earthquakes and tornadoes, of destruction by fire and flood, with great loss of life and property! Apparently these calamities are capricious outbreaks of disorganized, unregulated forces of nature, wholly beyond the control of man; but in them all, God’s purpose may be read. They are among the agencies by which He seeks to arouse men and women to a sense of their danger. (Prophets and Kings), p. 277.
“Calamities will come–calamities most awful, most unexpected; and these destructions will follow one after another. If there will be a heeding of the warnings that God has given, and if churches will repent, returning to their allegiance, then other cities may be spared for a time. But if men who have been deceived continue in the same way in which they have been walking, disregarding the law of God, and presenting falsehoods before the people, God allows them to suffer calamity, that their senses may be awakened. (Country Living, p. 7).
I expect many of you will turn a deaf ear to the dreams and prophecies I have shared in this issue of The Elijah Prophecy as pure speculation, and will continue to live in the “wicked cities.” Many of you will call me an alarmist, and some of you will write to me and say: “God is too merciful to destroy.” They will dismiss God’s justice and focus only on His mercy. Well, let me save you the trouble of writing by quoting again my answer: “Those who choose to remain disloyal, must be visited in mercy with judgments, in order that, if possible, they may be aroused to a realization of the sinfulness of their course. (RH, July 5, 1906). The judgments are part of His mercy, because a God of love is warning us, while probation is yet open, to turn from our evil ways and reform! We have this window of opportunity to sound the message of repentance and draw close to our Savior Jesus Christ while time lingers a little linger. You can be certain that the judgments will soon increase, because we have “a more sure word of prophecy.” (2 Peter 1:19).
One last point, for those who say God does not kill, I have a quote that says the opposite: “The plea may be made that a loving Father would not see His children suffering the punishment of God by fire while He had the power to relieve them. But God would, for the good of His subjects and for their safety, punish the transgressor. God does not work on the plan of man. He can do infinite justice that man has no right to do before his fellow man. Noah would have displeased God to have drowned one of the scoffers and mockers that harassed him, but God drowned the vast world. Lot would have had no right to inflict punishment on his sons-in-law, but God would do it in strict justice. (Last Day Events, 241). And if ye will receive [it], this is Elias [the Elijah message], which was for to come. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.” Matthew 11:14, 15. Prepare, beloved, prepare!

May God help us to trust in Him,
Danny Vierra
